Antique 1920s German Bisque Dolls House Baby Doll – Likely Hertwig KM385

A delightful little antique German bisque dolls’ house baby doll dating from the 1920s, measuring approximately 6cm high and retaining her original period clothing.

She has a wonderfully characterful painted face with beautiful rosy cheeks, tiny red lips and painted brown hair. Her wire jointed limbs allow gentle movement and give her the characteristic construction seen in these early German miniature dolls.

She wears her original dress and ribbon at the neck, together with a particularly lovely delicate cream lace cap framing her face.

The doll and her clothing have minor grubbiness consistent with their age, but overall she has survived remarkably well. The lace cap is delicate and should be handled with care. Please study the photographs closely as they form an important part of the condition description.

She is likely to have been made by Hertwig & Co., although without a confirmed maker's mark this remains an attribution rather than a definite identification.
