Vintage German Dolls House Babette Schweizer Soft Metal Cheval Mirror KM410

A superb antique Babette Schweizer cheval mirror, a finely detailed German soft metal miniature dating from approximately 1905–1925. Beautifully cast with intricate openwork decoration, this elegant freestanding mirror is one of the finest examples of early twentieth-century dolls' house accessories.

The mirror is supported within an ornate cheval frame, allowing it to pivot between the turned uprights just like a full-sized cheval mirror. The elaborate floral and scrollwork decoration reflects the Art Nouveau and early Jugendstil influences that made Babette Schweizer's miniatures so distinctive and highly collectable.

The original mirror plate has developed silvering loss over the years, creating a naturally mottled appearance that is typical of antique mirrors and confirms its age and authenticity. The soft metal frame remains in good vintage condition, retaining its crisp casting and beautiful decorative detail.
