A wonderful 1930s Pit-A-Pat dolls’ house telephone, standing approximately 2.8cm high and made from wood with its original paper rotary dial.
This tiny telephone is a particularly charming example of early British dolls’ house furniture, with a wooden body, separate handset and the original cord still attached. The printed paper dial remains in place on the front, complete with its wonderfully period-style numbered dial.
These little telephones are not often found this complete, as the handset, cord and paper details were particularly vulnerable to loss and damage during play.
On the back you can just make out the tiny surviving remnants of the original red and black Pit-A-Pat label, helping to identify the maker.
The telephone is in good condition, importantly, the principal components remain together, giving it enormous character as an original 1930s dolls’ house accessory.
A lovely and increasingly difficult-to-find Pit-A-Pat miniature, perfect for a 1930s dolls’ house interior or a specialist collection of early British dolls’ house furniture.
